Preparing the Design
A multi-coloured design must be separated into individual designs as we want to apply each ink colour separately. Each design will be used for a separate design screen.
Creating the Screens
Silkscreens are created by placing a design on top of a specially coated screen. The coating is light sensitive and will etch a photo-negative of the design on the screen.
Etching the Images
Etching the images involves a technique called “pulling the ink” where we actually use a squeegee to try n squeeze the ink through the screen onto the target.
Dry & Repeat
Each ink will need to dry before we can apply an additional colour. We must also be careful to line up each colour to reduce the chances of colour overlap.
